Merciless blitz on defenceless Gaza — growing numbers
of dead and injured
Victims 16 April – 17 April 2025:
40 killed — 73 wounded
Since dawn, Israeli air strikes and gunfire on homes as well as medical and other facilities resulted in the death of 40 residents and the wounding of 73 others, bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 51,065 with the total wounded at least 116,505. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023 is at least 91 and, that of those injured, more than 208. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.
West Bank
Palestinian Monitoring Group — Since midnight on 07 October 2023, Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure around the whole of the West Bank, preventing people (even including permit-holders) from entering both Jerusalem City as well as Israel, other than for especially-negotiated exceptions. Permanent military checkpoints impose severe travel restrictions within the Occupied West Bank.
Israeli Army attack – home demolished: Jenin – Israeli Occupation forces, continuing their storming of the city and the refugee camp, demolished a house in the Harsh al-Sa’ada area of the city.
Israeli Army attack – 2 killed during assault on cave–dwelling: Jenin – 08:40-14:20, Israeli forces, firing anti-tank grenades, raided the quarry area between Qabatiya and the village of Massilia, besieging a cave-dwelling and killing a teenager, Marouh Yasser Rateb Ikhzimiya (aged 19) as well as one other resident: Muhammad Omar Muhammad Zakarneh.
Israeli Army attack – home invasions – 4 taken prisoner: Tulkarem – the Israeli Army, firing live ammunition, continued to storm the city and the Tulkarem and Nour Shams refugee camps, invading homes and taking prisoner four people.
Death: Nablus – evening, Musab Hassan Adili (aged 20) has now died in the Soroka Hospital, three days before his scheduled release from an Occupation prison.
Home invasion and abduction: Jerusalem – 09:30, Israeli soldiers raided al-Eizariya and abducted a 17-year-old youth: Jamil Rajai Judeh Al-Mukhal.
Home invasions: Ramallah – 23:50, Israeli Occupation forces raided the village of Barqa and invaded a number of homes.
Home invasion and demolition: Jenin – Israeli forces demolished a house in the city’s Harsh al-Saadi district.
Home invasions and population–control – destruction of infrastructure: Tubas – 01:20, the Israeli Army raided the town of Tamoun, invading homes and interrogating ten residents, who were also taken prisoner. The Israeli military also bulldozed and destroyed the town’s al-Matla Street, as well as its infrastructure.

Israeli Army and settler mosque violation: Bethlehem – from the morning of 15 April until evening the following day, Israeli Occupation forces kept the Ibrahimi Mosque closed to worshippers, for the convenience of settlers, led by Israeli Minister of Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, celebrating the Passover holiday.
